With over 30 years operational experience under my belt I can definitely tell a few interesting tales. I can also claim to be an experienced chair, director, industry leader and commentator who drives above average profit, shareholder value and customer standards.

I have a unique blend of operational excellence and a commercial skillset across independent and branded hotels and SME’s and pride myself on leading change throughout a variety of organisations.

• I work with hotel teams to create an agreed purpose and objective driven culture.

• I have wide experience of sales and marketing within owner-operated and international brand environments.

• I have led teams that have won a number of awards and out performed on all the recognized customer satisfaction metrics.

• I have headed the acquisition and disposal of two hotels, as Director and shareholder achieving  “the largest and most valuable individual hotel sale that has ever taken place in Cumbria.”

• I have managed several £1M+ capital projects, successfully completing complicated and value-adding developments.

• I have successfully run a family business with a small Board and chaired a complicated Membership organization with a Board of eight independent hotel owners and a CEO direct report.

• I lead from the front,  engaging with all stakeholders and delivering a high profile and recognized leadership style.

• I have restructured organizations and teams to provide the optimal operating model and improve efficiency.

• I have wide experience of presenting to hotel teams, business groups and industry peers. I have excellent communication skills and I am able to adapt content to achieve successful results.
